Only 250 of this R/T-based special-edition Durango will be produced.
In case you missed it, next year celebrates the 85th anniversary of Mopar, Chrysler neé Fiat Chrysler neé Stellantis' aftermarket parts and accessories division. The parts and accessories behemoth is as well-known as the mainstream brands it serves, with a reputation for transforming Jeep, Dodge, and Ram models into more hardcore machines—or at the very least offering regular customers the option of festooning their new cars with branded floor mats, replacement parts, and the like. Occasionally, the Mopar brand appears on a limited-edition vehicle, as is the case with the 2022 Mopar Dodge Durango, which continues a long series of Moparized Dodges dating back to 2010.
The special edition Mopar package will be unveiled at SEMA in Las Vegas among other Mopar-modified Stellantis items. It'll be placed beside hot vehicles like the Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner and a Ram Outdoorsman. The Mopar Durango kit is only available on the Durango R/T AWD equipped with the Plus Group and Tow 'N Go package and comes in two exterior colours: DB Black or White Knuckle.
Externally, an offset asymmetrical Mopar Blue stripe runs from the driver's side front fascia, over the hood, and all the way to the rear, exactly like on recent Mopar Dodge special-edition Chargers and Challengers. Brembo brake callipers and a logo on the front grille are among the other Mopar Blue-painted enhancements.
With real Mopar insignia embroidered on the front seatbacks, as well as Mopar Blue accent stitching in the seats, centre console, dashboard, and door panels, the interior improvements are equally modest yet raise the Mopar level. The Durango also receives Mopar all-weather floor mats, a pedal kit, and a serialised build number badge on the dash.
The Performance Pages app, an electronic limited-slip differential, re-tuned active noise cancellation, and an electrically adaptable suspension are also included in the Mopar package. A 1.0-inch lowering package is also in the works, boosting the Durango's visual attitude with a lower ride height and likely enhancing the SUV's already adept handling. Are you also assisting in that department? A set of 20-inch Pirelli tyres on 20-inch wheels. The 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine in the Durango R/T remains intact, producing 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.
The 2022 Mopar Dodge Durango will be restricted to 250 units, with 200 going to the United States and 50 going north to Canada. If you want to get more out of your Durango SUV, this limited edition Mopar option will cost you $3,995. Each customer will receive a Mopar owner kit, which will include a vehicle rendering. Orders will be accepted in the first quarter of 2022, with delivery beginning in the summer at select Dodge dealers.
